Forum reiterates demand
ITANAGAR, May 5: Arunachal Righteous Forum (ARF) has reiterated its demand for immediate suspension of Chief Engineer, Power, transmission and monitoring, Anong Perme for his alleged involvement in financial irregularities and illegal appointments.
Forum further demanded the Power and RD minister to make his stand clear as to why he had allegedly misled the Assembly in particular and the state as a whole regarding execution of APDRP and RGGVY schemes.
Meanwhile, Papum Pare Youth Forum strongly supported the issues raised by the Arunachal Righteous Forum. Such corrupt practices should be discouraged, the Forum said while demanding suspension of Anong Perme. It further demanded investigation to ascertain the truth behind the allegations levelled against him.

Association apologizes
ITANAGAR, May 5: While reviewing its 10 days ultimatum served to the SRK Company, All Arunachal Pradesh Tribal Welfare Association (AAPTWA) in its meeting on April 4 found that the ultimatum issued to the RSK does not carry any sense. The Association apologized to the PRO SRK group of companies and assured that no any activities like donation collection would be repeated in future.
Earlier, the Association gave a ten days time to SRK Company to apologize for alleging the Association of forceful collection of money from them.
EPS distributes blanket to senior citizens
ITANAGAR, May 5: The members of Environmental Protection Society (EPS) toured the some of the remotest villages of Tawang like Kharung, Bongleng, Blaiteng, Namtsering, etc from May 3 to 5 and distributed about 60 blankets to the disabled and needy senior citizens of the villages.
The society also encouraged the villagers to plant more trees and save the rare wildlife to maintain the balance in the ecosystem.
Fire accident at Nyorch village
ITANAGAR, May 5: The RCC framed SPT building and kitchens of a joint family at Nyorch village were burnt down in between 4 am to 4:30 am today.
Inspite of all efforts by local dwellers and ITBP personnel, the kitchen houses and bed room building could not be saved. The RCC framed kitchen house were completely burnt down before the fire brigade arrived the accident spot from Naharlagun. However, the RCC framed SPT residential building was saved from complete destruction, informed a family member of the victims.
All easily perishable materials inside the residential building like wooden and steel almirah, clothes etc were completely burnt to ashes. The properties lost in the fire accident is estimated at around Rs..25,76,800, he added.
Meanwhile, the families of the victim appealed to the authority concerned to provide immediate relief.
NEHMCSWA reacts
ITANAGAR, May 5: The North East Homeopathic Medical College Students’ Welfare Association (NEHMCSWA) today opposed the intervention of All Arunachal Homoeopathic Students’ Union (AAHSU) in ‘internal problems of the homoeopathic college.’
Reacting to the AAHSU’s press statement, the Association described it unwanted intervention in internal problems and burning issues without having the full knowledge and understanding of the same.
Terming the AAHSU’s statement as misleading and fabricated, the Association said it had never sought help from the Union’s president or any intervention in the internal matters or problems which affects the regular students and ultimately to its Guardians/Parents. Earlier, AAHSU said that a team of the Union discussed various issues related to the colleges with its chairman on May 2 wherein the chairman approved fund for development of college infrastructure.
“Many a times, we were also told about infrastructure development like library, laboratory instruments and technicians and faculties but nothing has been turned in action” the Association said. While welcoming the approach of the AAHSU president regarding solution to internship problems, the Association further said the Parents Coordination Committee has already taken up the matter and it is better to let the parents and students body to tackle the present situation.
MHA’s reward to Changlang police
ITANAGAR, May 5: The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has rewarded the team of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), the Civil Police of Changlang and the Magistrate, who destroyed opium/poppy field at Khimyong circle, during March 2011, with cash award.
It may be mentioned that 470 acres of illicit opium/poppy plantations were destroyed and about 2350 kg of raw opium burnt under the leadership and guidance of Er. Tumme Amo, SP Changlang during March 2011.
While SP Amo was awarded Rs 25,000, Inspector T Tangha and SI PK Kalita were given Rs 20,000 each.
ASI C. Wangpan, Lct. Tem Mepo and Lct. C. Jokham were awarded Rs 15,000 each. Rs 10,000 each was given to Ct. C. Matcha, Ct. C.b. Pansa, Ct. R. Longchang, Ct. S. Prasad, Ct. L.Patgiri and Ct (dvr) K Eshi.
Free medical camp

Out of 1200 screened patients, 112 Malaria and 22 Hepatitis suspected cases were detected.
The team also distributed 500 mosquito nets and medicines during the two days camp under DVBDCPO, NRHM. The Hepatitis testing kits were provided by Navratis India Limited.
Meanwhile, the union assured to conduct more such camp in near future.

“Govt has presented deficit budget and therefore has put ban of payment to all contractors citing overdraft of state exchequer. This ban has caused extreme to many small time contractors. On behalf of people of Arunachal, AAPSU had sought white paper on the financial status of state. But state Govt is not responding to our demand and therefore on 18th May we are going ahead with 24 hour first phase statewide bandh call,” informed Tatung.
Further he added, “We had also demanded independent home minister for the state.

enough time and therefore it is leading to deteriorating law and order problem in

Lack of state information service creates chaos to IPR department

ITANAGAR, May 5: The District Information and Public Relation Officers (DIPROs) and Public Relation Officers (PROs) are the backbone of Information and Public relation (IPR) department. It is the mouth piece of the state government. But the service conditions and importance given to the department and the officers is just the contrary. It needs to be streamlined, made more pragmatic and proactive.

and common service/cadre rule for the officers. The recruitment rules for the individuals
are also so outdated that no good service condition can be expected out of it. There

ITANAGAR, May 5: Condemnation poured in from various organizations over attack on All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) general secretary Tujom Poyom by its own members on May 3.

Appreciating the action taken by AAPSU against its criminal members, the three organizations in a joint press release, appealed AAPSU leaders, past and present, to rise to the occasion to save the face of the apex students’ body.
“It is now the turn of the state government to prove its capability to put a stop to the violent trend and ensure peace and security in the capital complex,” the release said and appealed to all the denizens, civil societies and other NGOs to make a concerted efforts to check such unlawful activities.

Expert meet on ginger cultivation and marketing strategy for farmers
ITANAGAR, May 5: N.N. Charitable Society (NNCS) in collaboration with the Richa Sangcha Farmers’s Club organized a one day “Meet with Expert Programme on ginger cultivation and marketing management” at Sakiang on May 4. The programme was organized mainly for the benefit of the six farmers clubs of Mengio circle.
Speaking on the occasion as resource person, Punio Reena, Project Supervisor of Future Generation Arunachal (FGA), Yazalee appreciated the farmers community of Megia circle for their bold step to boost rural economy through formation of farmers’ clubs. She appealed the farmer community to cooperate with NN Charitable Society (NNCS) for development.
NNCS Project Officer Techi Ragi appealed to the agriculture and other line departments and Panchayat leaders to extend cooperation to the farmer for marketing of the products.
Though the farmers under Richa Sangcha Farmers Club of Mengio harvested 10 tons of ginger fiber crops, but they are facing marketing problems, he said while urging the farmers to make proper plan for marking of their problems with minimum profit.
Nangbia Amar Dui, Chairman NNCS assured the farmers to extend full support for marketing of Ginger. He briefed on the role of NABARD for the development of farmers. The APRB Yazali also sanctioned a sum of Rs. One Lakh as term loan to the Richa Sangcha Farmers’ Club as part of NABARD Bank Linkages programme, he informed and requested the clubs to repay the loan amount in time.

Anjushree Burman, a simple housewife residing in Upper Subansiri made it possible again through help of National Agricultural Innovation Project (NAIP) of ICAR.
Anjushree was living idle before starting of NAIP and could not improve her family status due to low income of her husband (Rs 3000 per month). Initially, there were only 10 members in the SHG group formed under the NAIP sub project entitled Economic Empowerment of Rural Women and Unemployed Youth through Self Help Group (SHGs). They were provided with embroidery and stitching machines. Now her monthly income is Rs 15,000 to 20,000. SHG is presently running a small tailoring shop at Dumporijo area.
Anjushree is the president of their SHG and Monalisha Burman is the secretary.
